Practice Summary - 1/11/25
We were originally supposed to have practice at 9pm tonight but the schedulers at Codey took mercy on the Dare Devils and moved the practice up to 7:45pm. While not our normal 9am slot, the 7:45pm start time was much more humane and conducive to a great showing by the players and coaches.
Unfortunately, equipment manager Terence was unable to attend practice as he was participating in a wet January endeavor. As a result, Coach Myles was forced to assume the double duty of manning the equipment closet as well as running practice. Despite the chaos, Coach Myles once again came through by leading a great session while also ensuring that newcomer, Charlie Gao, was properly suited up for his first practice with the team. Charlie had a great practice today and we are looking forward to his continued participation with the Dare Devils. In addition to Charlie's great showing today, our other new team members (Darren Chuang, Charlie Alterman, Matthew Amato and Victoria Garay) continued their progression and they are all turning into excellent hockey players. Shoutout to Coach Eric, Coach Bernard and the junior coaches for all of the effort they are putting into getting the new players situated on the ice.
Coach Myles ran the players through several station drills, working on stick handling, shooting, passing and skating. Practice concluded with net races and a spirited game of sharks and minnows. All of the players worked hard with Quinn Phillips, Liam Smith, John Giblin (home for his winter break from college) and Jonah Barnes having particularly strong performances today.
One bright side to the evening practices is that the timing works well with Frank's retirement sleep schedule. Frank graced us with his presence today and we will post a link to his gallery as soon as it's available. As promised, the link to Frank's gallery can be found here. It was great seeing you today Frank!
